Elizabeth became Queen on February 6, 1952, on the death of her father. Later that year, prior to her Coronation on June 2, 1953, Dorothy Wilding was approached to photograph the new monarch. Wilding was the first woman to be appointed as the Official Royal Photographer. Elizabeth sat for her once, during which an excellent set of photographs was produced. A fantastic coronation photograph especially with the original Wilding label on verso and in this size. COMES WITH A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY BY ANDREAS WIEMER HISTORICAL AUTOGRAPHS.
